About me

I'm Marc, and I've been fascinated by the world of IT since I was a kid, but I've recently fallen into the world of makers!

My journey through life

My passion for the world of IT began with computers at a very early age. Back then, I was already wondering how things worked. That's how I got into programming when I was about 15, with C. Once I'd passed my baccalaureat, I went on to study for a DUT in computer science at the IUT in Bayonne, on the Montaury campus in the Anglet city's. Unfortunately, it didn't work out as I'd hoped and I decided to take a BTS in Accounting. I wanted to capitalise on my knowledge of IT so that I could work in the field of accounting software design later on. This knowledge then opened the door to the Air Force, where I took up the post of IT developer at the Bordeaux CDAD as a sergeant. I've also taken a Java development technician diploma at the same time, via the CNAM, to build on the skills I've acquired through my various experiences. At the end of 2021, I decided to leave this environment to return to civilian life. Since then, I've been working for Open-groupe in Toulouse, where I'm a senior software developer. I'm also the team leader for the group I work with and I act as a link between my team and the managers. For 3 years now, I've also had a passion for 3D printing. In 2024, with the help of my wife, I decided to become a professional in the field of and that's how we created IGML. After a stint on Etsy, I've now taken the time to create the website that you're looking at, in order to combine my 2 greatest passions.

Parlons hobbys

As you may have gathered by now, I'm a geek at heart. Above and beyond my passion for video games, I like to understand how things work, in a wide variety of fields. It's this spirit of curious tinkering that naturally led me to computer science, 3D modelling and web development, as well as microcontroller programming, electronics and experimentation with platforms like ESP32 and Arduino. Sometimes I even get to take out the soldering iron! My discovery of 3D printing led me to paint miniatures, which in turn plunged me into the world of role-playing games. I particularly enjoy the role of game master, because of the creativity it requires, and I regularly play Dungeons & Dragons with my friends, although I'd also like to discover Pathfinder one day. Creating is a real driving force for me, and all these hobbies deeply reflect my personality.
